Will a HDMI Splitter work with Mac?

Hi I am going to buy a Mac Book Pro 13 inch 2.8 ghz. I was wondering if there is a way to get my mac to hook up to 24 tv's. I use them as mointors.

They both have HDMI and VGA/sound. I noticed that apple said that the MBP could only hook up with 1 thunderbolt on the second the mbpro would go dark. But I was hoping to work around that. I found this device on the internet: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10114&cs_id=1011409 &p_id=8117&seq=1&format=2 I was wondering if it would work so I could have My email up on my macbook pro and on tv 1 have safari up and on the second tv have itunes up? I do not want them to mirror!!!! I want them to both extend my display!

That product should work to go between one display and another. Note, that's not a splitter, but a switch. A switch toggles the signal between one display and another. Matrox makes splitters.

If apple doesn't make a splitter themselves then is the mbp not intended to be hooked up to mutiple displays?

I don't want to sacrafice parts of my computer not working for two displays.

Only Apple can tell you their intensions. This is just a user to user forum. Terms of use forbid us from discussing policy. If you have not working parts on your Mac, get them fixed first.

The Matrox DualHead2Go may be one way to go. Alternatively you might consider connecting one TV to your single video port and the other through USB (yes, USB) with a USB 2.0 to HDMI converter.

I would love to use two displays. But since the MBP does not have two ports or apple does not sell the object, the Mac is obviosly not inteneded to do this. Apple would sell this if they wanted you to be able to do it.

It has a video out doesn't it? And a USB? So I am not sure why either of those two ideas won't work. If you follow the USB link it specifically says its for macbooks. So you could at least use one additional screen with that solution or directly out of the video port. As for using both at the same time, well, that may be too much for the video card but I don't know.

I am already using both usb's. And I don't think two screens is really nesseracry. If apple would sell the extra screen connector I would do it, but I don't just put my credit card on random sites and risk my money or credit score.

In the case of monoprice I've been using them for years for cables, adapters, etc. and they are very reliable. Many people use them for the same reason.

If you aren't interested in it anymore, just go to the upper right and click "Stop Email notifications."
