If you have a MacBook with the removable battery you can get a new third party battery fairly cheap on eBay.

Apparently when your battery is fully drained your battery goes into low state power and isnt recognised and theres a process you must go through to fix this?

that is only if it is left fully drained for a period of time, not just one time for a day. If it does go in that deep state of discharge, the only recourse is to purchase a new battery.
