How do you delete stickies that you no longer need?

Not sure if this is what you're looking for but I simply left click on the upper left hand corner of the sticky title box and this brings up a menu Asking:

Are you sure you want to discard this Stickies note? If you don't save this note, its contents will be lost. There are three choices provided: Don't Save, Cancel and Save.

This will delete the sticky from the ~/Library/StickiesDatabase and the ~Library/Preferences/com.apple.Stickies.plist files.

If the Sticky is in your mission control then you click in the bottom left hand corner of the page on the minus button then little x's will appear on all of the items in your mission control, simply click on the stickies you wish to remove 😉

I went through all the STAGES recommended above to no avail. I FINALLY Just did this which will HOPEFULLY HELP everyone else for whom the above did not work. HURRAY!!!

• JUST DRAG THE STICKIES OUT OF THE PAGE AND THEY GET VAPORIZED LIKE THE APPS ON THE MAC STRIP

I tried every one of the suggestions below and none of them worked for me. On a lark, I hit the command key while I clicked on the upper left (barely visible) circle of the sticky note and that took care of all unwanted stickies. They did not come back.

Do you mean you click here and it doesn't work?

when i try delete my stickies i facing the problem below...you guys have facing problem like this..pls help!! My current mac version is OS X Yosemite...

this does not work for me there isnt anything to click on.

Press "control" and click on the stickies icon on your dock. This will give you a few options. Click "quit" and they should disappear off of your desktop.
