password trouble

I just got a new macbook pro and I'm trying to install software and it's not taking my password

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Hi...

Try "resetting" your Apple ID password > Apple - My Apple ID

And try restarting your Mac.

Your password for installs, should be the same password that you chose when you created your admin account. If you didn't enter a password then leave that field blank.
