Has anyone had trouble with Find My Mac in the iCloud pane in System Preferences turning itself off? I've been noticing that sometimes i'll go onto iCloud.com to track it just out of curiosity and find that it says offline, so i go check System Preferences and it's unchecked. But i haven't touched it since i turned it on. I've this happen several times.
Any help?

yes, been having this issue for at least a year on an iMac and a Macbook Pro. Started witl Lion and still happening with Mountain Lion. Does not happen on iOS devices, just my macs.
I didn't realize at the time that resetting NVRAM disables Find My Mac. Not sure if that's also your problem.
Surprised to find that it's so easy to disable a security feature.

The issue is resetting the PRAM. Everytime you reset the PRAM, the find my mac setting is lost. It's stored in pram and not in a file on the HD. Hopefully it gets fixed in the next OS releas.
Weird, I barely ever reset my PRAM. I do constantly hook my laptop to my Thunderbolt display and it has weird SMC issues from that.
yeah, that's most likely it. It's in some setting that is not file based and easily lost with a PRAM or SMC reset. Apple used to do that a lot in the 90s with settings and then started saving them in a file so they would reload after a reset.
took me a lot of searching to figure this out. Back to My Mac does not get lost like this, just the find my Mac feature. Seems like a huge security hole to me.

Does resetting the PRAM also re-enable Guest Account if you've disabled it?
