Apr 12, 2012 12:44 PM in response to grossmacby Ronda Wilson,Hi, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
1.33 GHz iBooks were made in both a 14-inch and a 12-inch model.
Which do you have?

Apr 12, 2012 3:23 PM in response to grossmacby Ronda Wilson,I'm wondering whether the display, itself, is compatible, since the inverter cable isn't.
The inverter cable can be found here:

Apr 12, 2012 9:37 PM in response to Ronda Wilsonby grossmac,The other cable is compatible and the video image is visible with a flashlight held close to the screen. I can operate the computer, move the mouse, select menu items, and so on, but there is no backlighting. I checked the signals on the 4 pin connector on the motherboard, there's a ground, a +5 V and two 3 or 4 V signals, probably controls. I just don't know which signals should go to the 6 wire cable. Unfortunately, standard colors don't seem to apply here, the red wire on the 4 wire cable is ground and the black wire is 3 V, go figure. I could just use trial and error and hope I don't blow something out.
Thanks, I'll check out the ifixit site when it comes back up.

Apr 13, 2012 10:44 PM in response to grossmacby Ronda Wilson,Have you tried resetting the PMU? The PMU (Power Management Unit) has control over the backlight function, so resetting it may help.
