Q: Importing iTunes library from hard drive?

Well the long story short is my old MacBook pro died. Took it to apple yesterday and they said it would cost $700 to replace so I bought a iPad. So now I'm in the midst of recovering my backups from the MacBook and transferring all my music etc to my iPad, another MacBook and iPad using iCloud. An error message keeps popping up saying that an "app could not be added to your iTunes library because an error occurred. An unknown error occurred (-50)".

Can anyone out there assist me in this situation please? I would love to be able to sync all of my music etc the other MacBook, iPad and iPhone that i have. What do I need to do??

iPad 2, iOS 5.1

Is this really a Tiger OS question (the forum in which you posted)?  Do you want us to request it be moved to a more appropriate forum?

Error code -50 is a generic code meaning there's some sort of communication difficulty.

You might want to provide more detail.  I don't know from what exactly you are transferring and to which device when you encounter this message.  You say these are backups from the Macbook Pro (you should always fully specify "Macbook Pro" because there is just a "Macbook" model and there is just a "Mac Pro" model), but are these on external hard drives?  If they are, it could be the external drive is having problems too.
