Might work directly connected to the dual link dvi port of your video card. 5x70's have a dual link dvi port. Is that the card you are using?
i have no mac yet. but i saw finalcut pro run on this monitor. just wonder.
thanks.
Max resolution: 2560x160013
Apple only lists support for up to the 30" Apple Display.
Not supported by OS X Lion even but has the resolution you want would be AMD Radeon 7970

It looks currently mac can't us this monitor. thanks
Apple is known well for not updating their tech specs as newer technology comes out. I don't know how often AMD updates their spec sheets.
Final Cut Pro only runs on OS X, so unless someone did a lot of hacking to modify a non-Apple PC to run OS X there is a possibility the monitor will work.
I think the best place to ask would be Eizo's tech support for what OS and graphics cards are required for their monitor.
Not to get anyone into trouble but there are Xeon Skulltrail reference designs (Intel's dual Xeon board) that show up (just do a search) on Geekbench. So I'd don't know myself but "a lot of" is probably also a bit "over the top" qualifier.
Apple's OS X sure seems to have trouble with 4GB VRAM (dual Quadro 4000s) and use to have trouble with more than 1.5GB and the Quadro was the first 2GB (there are 3 and 4GB and even above in the Quadro family as well as highend GTX)
I've successfully used an IBM T221 (3840 x 2400) off of one Dual-Link DVI Port on a few different cards for testing, including 5770. Refresh rate was pretty lame though (13Hz, yuck!). I do believe Dual Link DVI doesn't have a set resolution cap, though it loses refresh rate as you go up. OS X Didn't give any complaints or protests, nor did Windows. Heck, even games on both seemed to be 'fine' with it provided they could auto detect resolution, though I wouldn't call 13Hz fine.
My real question is if the monitor he mentions uses a Dual Link DVI, or some other sort of configuration, like whether it requires Multi-DVI Or what?

It has 2 Dual Link DVI ports and 2 Display Ports.

2560x1600 is one ports limit. not the limit a gpu can output. It takes 2 dual link dvi or 2 DP to work. Every GPU with those output options on the back can do it.
- I should have checked eizo....
I just got reply from eizo support and they says iMac with two thunderbolt connection could run this monitor.but thin line may appears in middle of screen. i think new macpro with radeon 7970 could handle this perfectly. BTW, when new macpro comes ???
