    Close your iTunes,

    Go to command Prompt -

(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".

    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt

In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in

    netsh winsock reset

    Hit "ENTER" key

    Restart your computer.

If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.

Now launch your iTunes, and see if it is working now.

If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

    Wiclee-

Thanks so much for your post (and rolliwa - thanks for putting the question out there.)

netsh winsock reset then retstart allowed me to get into itunes store no problem.

But now I am getting the message (twice) every time I start my pc that LSP is not mapped correctly - would I like to remap. If I answer yes, itunes stops connecting again. Per your suggestion in other posts, I downloaded and ran autoruns.exe to troubleshoot and see if there might be a third-party offender. However, it looks clean to me (but I am a networking moron.)

    6 listed are:

    Bonjour (32 bit)

Windows Live Local NSP (wlidnsp.dll) (32 bit)

Windows Live Local NSP (wlidnsp.dll) (32 bit)

    Bonjour (64 bit)

Windows Live Local NSP (wlidnsp.dll) (64 bit)

Windows Live Local NSP (wlidnsp.dll) (64 bit)

I tried disabling all 4 of the MS winsock providers via the registry, then rebooted but my windows live mail and even outlook (surprisingly) started giving me errors.

I searched on google for wlidnsp.dll and itunes but wasn't able to see much of use to me though truthfully didn't dig that hard.

I'd like to get things back to the point where I don't have to see the LSP error message and still have iTunes work. Any thoughts?

    Thanks very much in advance.

    Brian

I figured out the root cause in my case. Apple made a change in its networking protocol for 10.5 & up which doesn't place nice with other LSP clients which have been running fine for years. In my case, it was my Killer Networks wireless driver card. They posted some new drivers which worked around this problem.

OK, I am confused. I have done the winsock restore and ran the program listed in he article, but I don't know what to do once I run it? Nothing is fixing my problem. :( Please explain.

    When your ran

netsh winsock reset (as administrator) then restarted, were you able to connect to the iTunes store?

If not, do worry about autoruns etc - lsp is not your problem.

I am having this same problem, I have itunes working but am now getting the lsp needs remapping and the only thing that comes up is Bonjour items when I run the autoruns exe. I am really tired of getting 2 errors on my lsp not being mapped correctly every time I turn on my computer. If I have it remap for me then my itunes does not work.
