Does the iPad have Special Characters like OSX?

If you mean on the keyboard, yes. Tap the ?123 key for some and the #+= key on that keyboard for more. You can also set international keyboards that you can switch to by pressing the globe symbol key after you have selected those as secondary keyboards.

Those come in on some of the special font sets on the Mac OS X equipment rather than a direct keyboard click.


Unfortunately there is not a keyboard in the list for those kinds of symbols.


Have you tried looking up the ASCII code for a symbol and then trying to enter the code itself? Not sure that will work since under the old operating systems those were alt-code entries and that is not available in iOS.
