My AppleTV is very VERY LOUD. How do I turn down the volume?

I got a new Apple TV, and I am using it with HDMI to my Sony receiver. However, the volume level that is coming out of the AppleTV is very loud! Normally the volume it set to 30 on my receiver for my Tivo, PS3, 360. However, on my AppleTV this literally almost destroyed my speakers. I have to have it at *5* and even than it almost too loud. My receiver does not allow volume levels per input, and I have used other HDMI devices on this same port with no volume issues.

I have also noticed that for trailers, the volume is a bit low, so then I have to turn the volume up to 15 on my receiver, while the music, radio, and everything else is loud as heck.

How do I turn the line level out down on my AppleTV?
