How to prevent MIDI feedback loops in Logic....

How can I setup my environment to prevent MIDI feedback loops? It seems that most of my MIDI issues are definitely related to this. Currently, I have a Novation Remote 25 running through my MOTU Traveller and that is assigned to Port 1. The traveller is what sends the MIDI messages to Logic and in my environment, I have the following setup setup: Physical Input "Sum" routed to Keyboard, keyboard routed to Monitor Object and then Monitor Object routed to to an object called "Recording and Thru". There's also a MIDI click object in the environment, but it's not connected to anything currently. So I guess my main question is what do I need to add to eliminate this MIDI feedback loop? I've been reading some documentation on the boards here but it's just not clicking with me. ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

The keyboard is definitely only connected via MIDI Out 1. That then is run to the MIDI In 1 of the MOTU. The main problem I'm having is that when I hit the Octave Up or Octave Down key on the keyboard, it's actually transmitting the same signal as whatever key/knob/button I had pushed last. Someone mentioned this is probably a MIDI feedback problem and since I've experienced quite a few crashes/freezes since using this controller, I'm guessing that may be it.

Also, Not sure what "Local on/off" means. What is it and how dow I change it?

Well, unplug the cable that sends MIDI from Logic. Does it go away? Sounds like your MIDI signal path (described environment) is just default. Local control (Nov. may name it differently)...now that I think about it that keyboard is a controller only right? If it makes no sounds then it wouldn't have a Local switch. Local on/off refers to where the controller sends it's info. Local ON would send a keyboard message to it's internal tone generator, off would send it to MIDI and both would send it to both. Most controllers have some general paramaters like that.
