This is the stock Disc burner I have and would like to know what it can do?PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-105:

I have been able to view DVD's and burn music but that is all. I do not have a clue what this (above info) all means and am wondering if I am over looking it's capabilities? I need to burn very large Digital photography files and if this can't do it what would be a good replacement?

Thanks for any info. -Mac

That information means that your drive can burn CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, and DVD-RW disks, but cannot record on DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM, DVD-R DL, or DVD+R DL media. Since the drive is listed as Apple Supported, you can burn from the Finder, iTunes, iDVD, and other Apple applications. Having burn underrun protection is meant to mean that a burn won't fail when the computer isn't able to send data to the burner fast enough.

what he said.

you can get low cost CDR blanks 20¢ or less now. should be fine to burn any hires digital photos, unless you got photos that are larger than 700MB then I'd say you need to learn to process smaller image files. lol/

in my opinion dont burn data or photo discs more than 16x and use verification and when you burning your discs dont have any other app open or running other than your DVD/CD burning app.

for data integrity at my business we always burn data discs as slow as we can go if we can help it. slower write speeds means less bad discs created and less problems. sure sometimes you can burn something at 52x but hey if you got important files you should be careful with them.
