Will the pedants please give it a break. You know he's asking about the exploit and using the term "virus" as many do as a catch-all for any kind of malware. Why not give him the information he's asking for instead of a lecture? FYI, If you want to get really pedantic, it's a backdoor.

Miriam, people who use the term virus indiscriminately (probably 99% of Mac users) to mean any kind of malware aren't thinking about whether or not there are now suddenly Mac viruses, according to the technical definition of virus. And they probably could care less. They just want to know how they can be infected by this piece of malware, how an infection can be detected and what to do about preventing one. Understanding that a virus is not a trojan is really well down on the list of their concerns, if it's on their list at all, which it probably isn't.
