I need to view videos from my college website and neither my iPhone or iPad will view these. I get a message that tells me to download macromedia, but it will not do that either.

Or you could use different browser from the App store. I downloaded an app called Photon Flash Player Browser for iPad and it has been working very nicely. Read the reviews and if you buy it remember to toggle the lighting bolt when on a flas site.
iOS devices cannot and will not run flash player. See why.
You need to use a computer or other device that does support Flash.
Macromedia has not existed in 7 years.
They were bought out by Adobe.
Tell your college to update their sites.
