Q: Attempting to install Aperture 3.1: installation fails

Installing from a new retail disc. I get all the way through the steps, but as soon as the actual installation process begins, I get an error message:

 

"The installation failed.

 

An unknown installation error occurred.

 

The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."

 

I'm trying to install it on a 2010 Mac Pro with plenty of HD space, 16GB of RAM, OS 10.6.8.

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), 3.2 GHz Quad-Core

    Brilliant!  Thanks a ton.  I have been worrying about this all day after upgrading to Lion.  I could not start either my old copy of Aperture or install it from my retail disc.  I set the date to before March 23 and I was able to resintall my copy without a problem and run the 3.2.3 updater.
