My iPhone 4S got hairline scratch in the front screen. I thought Apple advertised their iPhone 4S to be scratch resistant? I'st possible to use my 1 yr. warranty to get a replacement?

My iPhone 4S got hairline scratch in the front screen. I thought it is scratch resistant glass as "ADVERTIZED". I use it cautiously and just put it in the pocket and there's nothing with it...and i dont use those screen protector , because the advertize the phone to have a sratch resistant screen. Can I use my warranty? to get a replacement>? or get it fixed? . If not, so APPLE is falsy advertizing their product and it's an act of fraud.

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1

Well the materials they have used and the amount of publicity and information that is leak is form of advertizing. This is just unaceptable ... for us consumers who thought/ think iPhone 4S is a good phone not just cheap product who get sracthed easily and they wont cover it under 1 yr. warranty. Material choice should be covered...I;m frustrated sorry about that. 😟

Oh good lord... get over yourself.

Leaked information is not advertising and in no way reflects the actual specs of the product.

Apple has never touted their products (iPhones, iPods, iPads) as being scratch resistent.

A device getting scratched in no way reflects negatively on the product or it's quality to an intelligent human being.

It simply means the user was careless with their posessions.

I think the hairline scratches exists on the oleophobic coating. Technically it's not the glass that's scratched. If I'm not wrong the coating helps by making it easier to clean off oily smudges. I was equally as perturbed when I realised that I had a ton of scratches, at first. But soon I forgot about them. I don't actually see them during practical usage. You could try going down to the Genius Bar and hopefully they'd change it for you... Or you could try purchasing an oleophobic solution to maybe 'repair' the coating? (No guarantees that this will work but logically I think it would. XD) All the best!
