McAfee Internet Security for Mac
Does anyone have mcafee internet security on their mac?
Is it any good?
You do not need it for Mac OSX. Some may be using it.
Many have reported that this av software slows down the system.

If you want to run AV on a Mac, look at these, both are free:

I tried to install MCafee AV from my account but had difficulty.
My broadband supplier EE also tried, twice, but they failed each time.
The last technician from EE worked remotely and after an hour he gave up.
He said that the issue and details were being sent to their research centre, declaring that it was a conflict with mavericks OS.

Mcafee AV have sorted the issue with Mavericks OS not accepting the AV.
Only issue this time was Safari would not download the software. I had to install Chrome, then it worked.
The call centre contacted me and went through the install. They didn't leave me until all was OK.
I have an apple air with 4gb of Ram that unluckily for me is not substitutable.
I have installed McAfee as the university gave me a free copy but I think it's one of the applications draining down my Ram. Do you think it's necessary to run an antivirus on OSx El Capitan 10.11.6? If you think the answer is yes: which do you think is the lighter?

In this case, I can save you some trouble. Nothing has changed in four years.
No third-party Application is superior to the protections already built into your Mac. If you choose to use an aftermarket so-called "anti-Virus" scanner, it will punish performance and make your Mac unstable for NO improvement whatsoever.
