Hi, new user here.

I recently got an email from Comcast, my internet provider:

"Constant Guard from XFINITY identified one or more of your computers may be infected with a bot..., blah, blah, blah... We strongly recommend you visit XFINITY.com/BotAssistance for important information on how to remove malicious sofware from your computer(s)."

So I clicked on the link and was presented with two options:

Do it Yourself: Told me to check to see if my OS is up to date (it is), then Next took me to free download (for Comcast High Speed Internet Users) of Norton Security Suite. Now I've had Norton in the past and I considered it as bad as Spam, with constant attempts to get me to upgrade features, confusing keys, etc. Is this just a marketing ploy to get me to load Norton on my iMac? Does it even work on OS computers?

XFINITY Signature Support: This just smells like a service upgrade package that's going to cost me money. I'm not even going to try calling, as that usually means a waste of 15 minutes of my life wading through Comcast's auto menus until I talk to someone trying to sell me on something new.

Has anyone had experience with this?
