Q: How do you report Phishing to Apple.

This is third time I've asked how you report Spam to Apple. First time was 2009. I can not believe a multi-billion dollar company such as apple doesn't have a Place to report Spam. Banks do CC companies, do even other software companies do.

THis paticular piece has a persons name and address and Name  sent to my email. if you hover over the links its obvious it’s a phishing attempt.

I think its bad Apple is being so cavilier about such a serious threat to their profits.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Apple ID.

    Not any more!

    "reportphishing@apple.com":

SMTP error from remote server in greeting:

    host: mail-in2.apple.com:

5.7.1 You are not allowed to connect

And abuse@me.com similarly will not connect. This scam site has been up for three days and I still cannot report it to Apple. Incredible!

You sent an email to that address and got that error? Those are both email addresses, not URLs.

    Hi Deggie,

Out of interest, when I saw this post I sent an an e-mail to ...

    reportphishing@apple.com

asking for confirmation if the service was operational.   That no-one has bothered to reply suggests that it may not be  .... or does it?

Run that past me again - it didn't make any sense.

Emails directed to the two addresses specified fail. Only you mentioned URL's.

That is a an unusual response from sending an email to an address. Have you tried it a second time?

Phishing e-mails was a 90s issue with pc, just don't use the same passwords connected to your iTunes and change your password once in awhile. Pirating information and profiteering off it, is lame and disgraceful.

    Hi everyone!

    There is also spam@icloud.com.

I sent my spam/phishing email to every 'report phish' email on here so hopefully someone will get it and stop it. Is this sort of hassle that means people won't report issues and then they get to be problems. But oh well. I've done my bit. For now!

    Hi,

    The page at

    http://www.apple.com/legal/contact/

Confirms reportphishing@apple.com as the place to report this type of stuff.

It's probably always best to check on an Apple site to make sure the email address hasn't changed.

I just received one of these phishing attacks - it got past a filter at my ISP and Symantec's Brightmail service.

And Thunderbird didn't flag it either.

    D

P.S.  The automatic reply is not instantaneous.

I just got a Phishing email  asking me to confirm my iTunes account.  I sent it both to the  reportphishing@apple.com  and the legal  page .

It has the   Apple logo but is addressed to Dear Customer and  has the word letter  spelled as the Europeans spell it  "Lettre" . It claims it is from Apple Security .

I hope Apple gets on this one fast before some one who is tired or not thinking responds to this email .

It looks like it could have come from Apple.

    Hello,

The real Phishing reporting email for Apple is customer_phishing_reports@apple.com.

I called them because I got a email that was suspicious, and this was the email that they provided me.

    Hope this helps!
