FCP 10.0.4 update out

Blimey.... 1.48Gb is a lot of "improvements"!!😮

So....... downloaded the "update" which at a whopping 1.48GB is like downloading the whole thing again.

It "updated" projects / events (no going back again!!) and.... er.....

Anyone like to play "Spot The Difference"??

FCPX is much faster acroos the board on my system in operation and edit terms,, no more beachballs, I put together a 700 clip 5 hour long project with all clips CC'd and there was almost no slowdown.

New trim feedback when you drag an edit as well.

Very happy with this so far

Upgraded both FCPX and Motion with no problems. Both operate just fine. The only glitch I have is that the App store icon in the dock still shows 2 upgrades available. I did the upgrades before the dock icon showed them as available, but now it shows them. I went back to the store and in my account did the reset for warnings and downloads to no avail. Also restarted the computer but that didn't clear it either. Any ideas?

Leave them alone.... you may get a freebie when it goes to 10.1.0!

Have you noticed any changes / improvements?

Haven't seen anything excitingly new other than what was posted by Tom and Steve. The new trim window is nice and the program loads faster. It did take a long time to re-render everything in each project the first time I opened it. The download is agonizingly long even with my 15mbp/s link. It seems to download at about 8 mbp/s so it took almost 25 minutes. Same for the Motion upgrade. The problem with the Mask effect and JPEGs still exists. You still have to make a compound clip to apply the Mask to a still. Some titles like Keynote are still buggy. I am sure some will like being able to see percentages instead of pixels in the inspector particularly with respect to position. So far I have seen no indication of having to re-render previously rendered clips or effects. All in all a benign upgrade for me.

Can you elaborate "new trim window"? I haven't touched FCP x in a while ( busy with other projects )

I don't know about a new trim window, but when you ripple a clip in the timeline, it now not only shows the amount of the trim in the tooltip, but also displays the new duration of the trimmed clip.
