keyboard is hard to type on

it's more that the physical action of getting the
keys to go down is difficult. it's as if there's an
unnecesary amount of friction on the actual
downstroke.

In that case I recommend you talk with support, they keys should be easy to depress.

System Preferences>Keyboard

Check your keyboard settings. If it's still difficult to type after you play around w/the settings, then I suggest that you contact Apple since you are still under your one year warranty. You just may have a defective keyboard.

Mine two are not difficult to type on except that I find the finish too slick, my fingers slip off. When I added a keyboard skin I found that my typing improved, it also protects the keyboard from spills, crumbs and other debris. I use one from iSkin, but there are other brands http://www.iskin.com/protouch/xt_features.html

It seems like the my Apple Keyboard is getting old and it is difficult to type on. I noticed how bad it actually is because a friend of mine just got a new one to work better with her tablet in a iBook. So... hers is completely smooth and mine is getting harder every day. I tried to clean it up, but it did not work, it seems like somehow the keys are frictioning its 'plugs' on the keyboard, and there is nothing wrong with the 'kinda rubber' that is underneath the keys... removing the keys I can see that the 'rubber' is just fine, and it is still very smooth. Any idea of what I should try to get the keyborad running smooth again? Thanks VERY much.
