Are you sure you have an AirPrint printer ?
It's a std the printer have to be made to support
YEs I'm sure. Just bought it
What make and model printer and what make and model router are you using?
This will be interesting to watch. Notice that he said access point, as opposed to router. I wonder if bonjour is the issue.
But the first question by Rbli is the right one. Get the basics figured out.
I will bet on firware download on this new printer.
What type of access point?
Did you follow all steps in article HT4356?
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
Additional Information
If you are unable to print, or if you see the message "No AirPrint Printers Found"
Verify that the printer:
If necessary, consult the printer documentation or contact the printer vendor for help with the above steps.Notes:
PRinter is Epson stylus SX438W and wireless access point
IS Netgear WG602 v4
I don't see the Stylus SX438W in the AirPrint printer list:

Is there an AirPrint logo on the box?
Agree not on the list. If it is brand new, take it back and get an AirPrint enabled printer.
( excuse my rant. I went over to best buy to see why so many people were coming home with non AirPrint machines and asking about it here. The markings on the boxes, across all the manufacturers are at best murky, and borderline deceptive. They all claim to be wireless from any device, and almost none of them specifically mention AirPrint enabled. The only real good way to make sure you get what you want is to print the dam list and take it with you. End of rant)
NO it's not on the list is it. It says smartphone and tablet printing
BUt not the word AirPrint. Is it back to the shop?
It is a giant pia to rebox it and take it back, but for the foreseeable future, anytime you want to print you will have to screw around with your system. If I had the option, I would take it back. But that's just me.....
OK. Thanks a lot guys.
I was in the same place as you - I'm going to have words with Curry's because they say 'Airprint' on their in store blurb about this printer.
HOWEVER: I made it work on both my iphone 3GS and on my ipad 2.
This is how.
1. Go to the app store and download "Epson iPrint" for free onto your iphone or ipad.
2. Open the app. Choose the kind of thing you want to print, and print it. You can print from your camera roll, cloud storage, dropbox, etc etc. You can also print web pages.
Easy as that. If you haven't set the printer up on your home network, I did the following:
1. Plug printer in to power socket.
2. Switch printer on.
3. Press the home button (it's a house).*
4. Use the arrow keys to go to setup and press ok.
5. Go to wifi settings using the arrow keys and ok.
6. Choose wifi setup wizard.
7. Choose your network off the list.
8. Enter your WEP/whatever key/passcode. (This is a bugger as there's no keyboard, home key switches between ABC/abc/123)
9. Press ok. You're done. Press the red key to get back to the main menu.
*your printer might ask you to choose a language first.
Hope this is of use - you really don't need to take it back! The best thing about it is that it's genuinely compatible across all smartphones and tablets, in our house we can print from the PC, my iphone and ipad, my husband's android device, and my son's ipod touch.
