How to Silent Install Quicktime on Enterprise Network?

OK... I have read several posting where people have come up with "CUSTOM" scripts to push the updated version of Quicktime out to workstations on their networks. I have read the manuals for Quicktime and I did not see any / or - switches that would allow for a silent install of Quicktime to the workstations. When I tried the re-distributable .exe file, it sets the automatic update to go back to apple and check for updates which is not allowed on our network. With the most recent version of the redistributable .exe file, the installation does not update the version number of the product to a 7.7.x version so our security team is dinging us having a vulnerability.

My question is: Without building a Custom Script to install the product, is there any way to install the newest version of Quicktime across a network and set the product to not check for updates?

Honestly, if I have to build a custom solution or answer file, I am going to build one that simply removes the product. Not trying to be ugly but I am severely frustrated with this. I have over a thousand computers that need to be brought up to date on this product.

Mind the thread bump; this problem crops up every time Apple releases a Quicktime update because they keep changing the installer every single version, even from 7.7.2 to 7.7.4.

Windows Installer (MSI) tech is supposed to support /q (silent) or /passive installations but only if the installer was actually tested with those switches. In 7.7.2 this used to work:

msiexec /i "AppleApplicationSupport.msi" /qn /norestart

msiexec/i"QuickTime.msi"/qn /norestart DESKTOP_SHORTCUTS=NO SCHEDULE_ASUW=0ASUWINSTALLED=0

In 7.7.4 we're apparently supposed to make a transform and use it, and we're supposed to copy a file from a PC with an installed Quicktime instance and pre-populate the PC with it, or so I'm told according to this fellow:

msiexec/iAppleApplicationSupport.msi/qb

msiexec/iQuickTime.msi TRANSFORMS=QuickTime.mst/qb

mkdir"%SYSTEMDRIVE%\ProgramData\Apple Computer\QuickTime\Custom"

copy/YQuickTime.qtp"%SYSTEMDRIVE%\ProgramData\Apple Computer\QuickTime\Custom\QuickTime.qtp"

reg load HKU\DefaultUser"C:\Users\Default\ntuser.dat"

[etc, and so on]

...um, Apple, you're not helping us any. IT admins who manage hundreds of PCs are not going to permit all of them to access Apple Software Update over the internet at once. This is what SCCM is for, right?

At least Adobe got it right with their Flash MSI installers. Now there's a laugh, eh? Adobe software being better than Apple's?
