iMovie deleted itself! No time machine active. How can I retrieve it?

I removed iMovie from the dock. It was not in the applications folder anymore. I was not running time machine when this happened. How do I retrieve it without having to spend $15 on a new iMovie?

Removing iMovie from the dock should not delete it from the Applications folder. However, if you delete it from the Launchpad, it will delete it from the Applications folder.

If you have a retail copy of iLife 11, you can reinstall from DVD.

If you bought iMovie from the Mac App Store, you can open the Mac App Store, make sure you are signed in with your Apple ID, and find it in your installed apps. You can download it from there.
