Check this Apple article out -> iTunes 10 for Windows: If iTunes can’t access the Internet because proxy settings are incorrect
If that doesn't take care of it, try this article -> iTunes: Troubleshooting security software issues
Okay Boys & Girls
The all important answer is....
(Well it worked for me!! :-)
1) Start
2) Control Panel
3) Internet Options
4) Connection Tab at the top
5) Lan Settings
6) Tick the 'automatically detect settings' box
7) Okay
8) Okay
Hopefully your connnection to the CDDB server will now work.
Good luck!!
None of the suggestions here worked for me - still get the unable to access CDDB message
I am running Mac OS Mountain Lion, and I started having the issue with CDDB server not found ONLY after upgrading to Itunes 11. Never had any major problems getting track names until now.
So far many others have noticed the same issue but no one has a solution.
I would like to ask: "Where the f... is Apple?!"
I had the same problem, but only after I upgraded to Mountain Lion. Called support line, and within 5 minutes it was fixed. I was stepped through a procedure to delete my old cache files for iTunes. No songs were lost, and the first disc I put in worked. I have a very short memory for this stuff, so I can't give the steps needed.
This worked for me thanks. Lets hope it continue to work
Can you elucidate how one deletes the cache files for iTunes?
Thanks!
Hi
I am also getting the dreaded 'unable to access CDDB server' when using my new air with iTunes 11.01. Does anyone have a solution please?
SOLUTION ..
This worked for me, thank you to JWMS1985 who posted this on another discussion forum
1.Close iTunes
2. Open System Preferences
3. Clicked on Network
4. Select WiFi in the white column on the left
5. Choose the Advanced button in the lower right hand side
6. Press the Proxies tab
7. Choose Auto Proxy Discovery (a tick will apear)
8. Press Ok, then Apply on the Network section and close the window.
9. Relaunch iTunes and see if it connects
really works! Thank you!
Thanks!
Worked perfectly.. thanks
