Ilife'08 and imovie

It would be easier to offer advice if you had divulged what Mac your are using and what version of OS X.

and minimum speed for iMovie'08 on G4 is 1.9GHz and most iMacs was 1.8GHz - So to be able to "run" iMovie'08 on this one has to go a tricky way and might wonder if it's wort it.

You need an external hard disk - FireWire AND that have the ability tpo be booted from WesternDigitals do not work - Iomega does and soi LaCie.

Then on this external HD You must

• create a bootable system then

• find someone with a faster Mac eg Power Mac 2GHz or better and

• conned the external hard disk. Boot the Mac from it.

• Now install iLife 08 - and iMovie'08 will install

Then back to Your iMac - Now boot it from the external HD and You find that iMovie starts too (if 1.8GHz iMac) - BUT BUT BUT - it will run VERY SLOW - barely usably and iM'08 is far from a decent product - iMovie'09 and 11 are far far more better - BUT then You need a new Mac.

You can not buy it from Apple

BUT - Your iMac was certainly delivered with it. So find the start-up DVDs that came with it and install it from them.

Else - second handed from e-bay etc.
