I have noticed in the ibookstore that there are several books like The Ugly Duckling that have templates resembling storybooks, where you can swipe the page vertically and a page flipping animation will flip you to the next page as if it were an actual book. I want to make this on Author, but there are only the six default templates. It may be the case that these storybooks' templates were made by developers and may not be possible for me to model.

Any help would be appreciated.

The default navigation with iBooks Author (any template) won't give you page flip animations.

If you author a book with Pages, as one example, then generate a standard e-pub file, iBooks will automatically provide a page flip.

Use Apple's 'Pages', write your book, then export as epub.

Unless you can goggle some obscure animation stand-in, yes...that is correct.

Pages does it for free, so it seems a no brainer

Good luck in any case.
