Using Apple TV with high-end audio amplifier

Does anyone know a high end DAC that works with Apple TV2 and and my Lyngdorf Amplifier with analog inputs?

Pretty much any Optical Audio (TOSlink) to Analog adapter will work, just depends on what you feel like spending - $10, $100, $1000+? Do you have balanced or unbalanced inputs on your amp? Do you want another pre-amp inbetween the signal or direct conversion?

Check out the Pro Audio / AD/DA Converters / section of BHPhoto... or your local pro audio musician store. Even check out dedicated headphone amps. Many have optical in and analog outputs besides the headphone amp.

I know the Lyngdorf preamp..... it's to expensive for my wallet...but thanks for your advice anyway. Have you heard anything god or bad about the Gefen Converter http://www.futureshop.co.uk/gefen-digital-audio-to-analogue-stereo-audio-convert er-p-1184.html

Afraid not.

I still use an old Yamaha DSPE800 for optical decoding which was bought for surround sound duties in conjunction with my analogue hifi.

Have a look on amazon uk and do a search for 'dac' there are dozens of small compact dacs from about £30 upwards there, plus the benefit of reviews - the cheapest Neet one seems to be popular with AppleTV users but in terms of sound quality who knows.

Worth pointing out that AppleTV2 supposedly outputs all stereo as a 48 kHz 16 bit optical stream.
