Help to type a date

I would like to be able to type the date so that it shows as a number with a 'rd', 'st', 'th' in small letters on the top right hand side. Instead it just comes up with 1st, 2nd, etc. Can this be done?

Thanks anyone

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

HOWEVER - the original question was, and also my above question is - in relation to DATES - namely, changing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc .... into superscript suffixes.

IF we were to attempt to do this in the function System Preferences > Keyboard > Text - using "replace" / "with" - you would have to set up well over 100 of them - because I have ALREADY TRIED.

And setting up 1st only works with "1st" - it does not with with 21st, 31st, 41st, etc ....

So, you would have to set this up for every single number in the world. Not very convenient.

The function - System Preferences > Keyboard > Text - is only really designed to work for things like(tm), (c), etc .... and also for fractions like 1/2, 1/4, 1/3.

it does not really work for numerical suffixes in the DATES context.

Actually there are Opentype superscript numerals you could use in the auto substition, you'll have to hunt for them.

The problem is the intelligence to apply them isn't there, you still need to set up the basic ten variations (not every single number in the world):

xxxx0th

xxxx1st

xxxx2nd

xxxx3rd

xxxx4th

xxxx5th

xxxx6th

xxxx7th

xxxx8th

xxxx9th

PS I can find references to ordinals on the internet but no Unicode addresses, nor do they appear in the Special Character maps. The Spanish forms of 23ª and 24º seem to be common but not the English.
