I have connected my camcorder to my Mac with a rocketfish firewire cable, but the Mac doesn't find the camcorder. I'm trying to import my videos to my Mac in iMovie. Anyone have this problem and how did you solve it?

IMovie 11? I don't see the DCR-PC350 in the list of supported cameras.

Thanks. It says "iMovie11 works with most mini DV tape-based camcorders using DV and HDV formats..." but I can't even get the Mac to recognize a camera is connected. Might be a connection issue rather than a compatibility issue. But thanks for pointing me to this page. I'll keep trying.
There may be a workaround I just don't know it. You might get better information in the iMovie Forum
Before plugging in the camcorder, I believe you have to have iMovie running - launch iMovie and click on Help (upper menu bar) - you should see this; if you click on import, tape based camcorders are mentioned and you can look at the instructions.
Also, in your Finder Preferences, do you have them set to show external disks, etc. on your desktop? And, in the CDs & DVDs Preference Pane in System Preferences, what are your settings?

If you run System Information and look under the Hardware settings and select FireWire you should se the camera if it is plugged in and turned on.
If you don't even see it at this low level something is amiss.
