iMac g3 speakers

while i was listining to music today on my iMac g3 400mhz SE all of a sudden my speakers started to make a very loud violent noise and so i looked at the speakers and one of them "blew up" 😟 Does anyone know where i can get speakers that are compatible with my iMac?

Do you mean the speakers that are built in (part of the iMac)? If so, they are special parts made for the iMac.

Amazingly, this place has replacement parts listed...

(even available in various colors)

FYI - Any set of self-powered external speakers (that connects with a standard mini-stereo jack) is "compatible" with your iMac.

This similar thread from about a year ago:

ended with the OP not finding any after web searching. Apparently blown G3 speakers are a problem and the supply is largely dried up.

Consider some nice externals. I have one pair I bought at a yard sale for US$2 sounds many times better than the built-in speakers in out imac G3/400 DV.
