i can't find iChat in my applications.

i remember when i first set up my mac, it had me set up my ichat account. but i can't find ichat. does the beta version of messages that i downloaded have to do with this? what about facetime? ( i don't think it would be facetime because it was already installed when i first ran up my computer when it guided me through setting up an ichat account.) help?
