The iMovie projects I have recently made on my iPad, the lastes version of iMovie.
After I export the movie, the thumbnails show as grey. Also for example after I upload the movie/project to flickr the thumbnail is grey.
Is there anyway to change that?
It might be because I am using the fadding in from black option?

This has to do with flickr and Vimeo not iMovie.
You will have to search their forums or help files on how to set thumbnails.
But I assume that they are probably grabbing a frame somewhere near the start of your video.
I use You Tube mostly as it is easy to export to, and there you can simply set a different thumbnail.
So I would assume you can change it in Vimeo and flikr.
It shows this way on my iPad and my Mac prior to uploading to any site.
Is there a way that you can choose where iMovie picks the frame for the thumbnail?
iMovie does not pick the thumbnail.
iMovie makes an mp4 video, it does not imbed any thumbnail.
The photos app seems to pick the first frame of video, and there is no way to change this.
