Ars Technica published an article to an apple support link about the Java update (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5242) but, I have yet to find a way to download it (either through Software Update or direct download).
Check your Software Update preferences. If it isn't present then most likely you don't have Java installed and don't need the update.

I forgot that I just had my iMac completely wiped and to my surprise it does not come with Java for OS X. Yay!
To confirm, I ran software update on my macbook pro (which does have Java for OS X installed) and got the 003 release.

But if you don't need Java then you should be OK. Just be sure that if you download Adobe's Flashplayer, that you do so only from Adobe's website to be sure you are getting the real thing.
