"you need to answer some security questions to verify your apple id" keeps coming up on my ipad when i go to app store but doesn't happen from my iphone. A few people i have spoken to have this problem as well. Does anyone know what's going on? Thanks

It seems to be something that Apple implemented this week, going by other peoples' posts. I can only presum that some accounts have been compromised or maybe they're just being careful.

I had a similar issue with Yahoo and it telling me that I needed to change the password on my mail.

Looks like it is for real. Not necessarily a sign of a hacked acount.

Apple is really just beefing up security - for everyones's sake - that's all it seems to be.

Does anyone know if there's a way to change the questions themselves? (Frankly, they have to be the most ridiculous security questions I've ever seen. A good security question should be one that you'll have no problem remembering the answer to, even if you're asked years later. To answer one from the third batch, I'd have to make something up, which makes it unlikely I'll remember the answer later. And I certainly don't want to have to write the answers down somewhere.)

Apple is tightening the security of the Appstore.

I am having an issues with these new security questions too. As I hit submit, I noticed a typo in one of my answers. I tried to go into my Apple ID under Password and Security but it would not accept the answers I entered. Now my account is locked. i just got off the phone with Apple support. They opened a ticket to have my answers wiped out. I assume I'll have to do this all aver again. They said it could take 24-48 hours for this to be resloved.
