Apr 13, 2012 12:40 PM in response to ajwaldropby X423424X,The monitor uses DVI so a mini-displayport/thunderbolt to DVI adapter should be the proper one to use. If this is the only monitor attached (which I guess it would be if it's a mini) then perhpas the default resolution and/or refresh rate is incorrect for that monitor.
Try doing a pram reset and/or booting in safe mode to see if you can get the display up to set the proper resolution and refresh rate.

May 21, 2012 9:47 AM in response to ajwaldropby Todd Fleisher,I had a similar issue between a new Macbook Pro (Late 2011/8,2) and an older matte cinema display. PRAM reset fixed that. I'm still having an issue where target disk mode doesn't seem to work right on it which sadly still persists.
