Q: iTunes freezing when updating iPod Touch, just updated 5.1

The other day, I updated the software on my iPod Touch 3G to 5.1, and now when I try to update my iPod, iTunes freezes up. No error message, it just stops working and I have to use the task manager to shut it down. My iTunes software is up to date: version 10.6.1.7. I do not use iTunes to manage my playlists - I do it all directly on the iPod, but when I try to update the info for any tracks or add anything new, it freezes. It is also doing the same thing on both my desktop and laptop.
