Japanese credit card for US payments?
Hello,
I made a VISA credit card with Citi in Tokyo, and I recently relocated to New York.
I bought a Macbook Pro and want to make use of the Mac App store and iCloud.
The Mac App store for purchasing and downloading software, and iCloud for when I buy future devices like another mac or an iOS device, etc.
But when I try to enter the payment information, it complaints:
"Your credit card information does not match your bank's records. Please enter a U.S. credit card and matching billing address."
So does this mean that because I made my VISA in Japan, it makes it a Japan credit card, and I am unable to use it as a customer in the US?
I also tried to apply as a customer in the US but with a billing address in Japan, but Apple will not let me by disabling me from changing the country of the billing address. Meaning that if I apply as a US customer, I cannot use a Japanese billing address.
It DOES work if I apply as a Japanese customer with the same VISA, though...but I know that there is a WIDER SELECTION OF CERTAIN APPS, and because I AM ACTUALY A US CITIZEN IN THE US, I want to apply as a US customer. How do I do this?
I made sure there is/are no human error[s] involved in this problem, please help! Has anyone experienced something alike and/or have a good solution?
P.S. Or should I just call Apple? I am asking here so I at least have some knowledge on the topic, and I might be lucky enough to actually find a solution.
Thanks a lot in advance!
