Q: MacBook purchased before 2009-What adapter to buy to connect to SVideo input on a TV?
I have a MacBook bought before 2009 (Model 2,1 with 2GHz IntelCore 2 Duo processor) and I need to get an adapter to connect my MacBook to a SVideo cable to connect to my TV so that I can watch movies I download from Itunes on my MacBook on my TV. My TV only has Composite RCA sockets and SVideo input sockets. What adapter should I buy?
Also, have you ever had a problem where the connection is made, but the movie is in black and white on the TV and not in color as it should be? What causes this problem?
Thanks
MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

The macbook 2,1 uses min-dvi, not mini-displayport. But based on your description there is some ambiguity on exactly which mini-dvi adapter you need.
Look at the following two apple docs and you will see what I mean:
Monitor and display adapter table
MacBook: Mini-DVI to video adapter compatibility
Once you figure that out do a google search for "mini dvi to composite adapter" or "mini dvi to s-video adapter" to hunt down the appropriate adapter.
