My ten key pad that attaches to the keyboard doesn't display the numbers. The batteries are good and the green light comes on. What am I doing wrong?

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

If you do have an iMac please let us know which one and what ten key pad you're referring to and what troubleshooting you have attempted.
