How to "delete daemon from startup items"??

I recently installed a major update to Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac, and, now, I cannot open Outlook because I get this message each time. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.7.2)

Just go to MacHD/Library/StartupItems. It should be the only file in there as Apple leaves that folder empty by default.

I have the exact same issue, installed the update yesterday - but i have 3 folders listed in the StartupItems: HP IO, HP Trap Monitor and ParallelsDesktopTransporter. All three folders have 3 icons inside. HP IO has: HP, Resources (folder), StartupParameters.plist. HP Trap Monitor has: HP Trap Monitor, HP, Resources (folder), StartupParameters.plist. ParallelsDesktopTransporter has llipd, ParallelsTransporter, StartupParameters.plist. Using Snow Leopard OS 10.6.8. Please help!

I don't have a StartupItems folder. And, now am getting into an endless cycle of:

  1. "Please upgrade the office data base" -- Quit Outlook or Upgrade
  2. I select Upgrade
  3. "There is a problem with the Office Database. To use the database, you must rebuild it using the Database Utility" -- Cancel or Rebuild
  4. I select Rebuild
  5. Rebuilding Main Identity
  6. "Your identity is older than this version of Outlook. Please rebuild by using the last version of Outlook that used this identity" -- Done
  7. The identity screen only has "Main Identity" listed. Only option to click is "Rebuild"
  8. I click Rebuild
  9. It tells me all Office apps aren't closed, but they are. Even checked Activity Monior.
