How do I run a PC app on my Mac mini OS X?

I have a CD ROM meant for use on a PC with an application I would like to run.

Can I use my Mac to read the CD and if so, what are the apps and steps to do it?

I've tried installing some of the open source PC emulators, but I find them impossible to understand (even though I was a career software engineer <blush>)

Thank you so much!

Buy a copy of Microsoft Windows, and install it on your system using Bootcamp, which is included with OS X. If you're running 10.6.8, you should be able to use Windows XP and newer.
