How do you see your serial number on itunes without your iPod plugged in?

my friend lost my ipod yesterday at lunch and everyone in my school thinks she was pick pocketed because thier is no way it can fall outta her pocket because it was deep. I am trying to track down my ipod before my parents find out and i get in a lot of torible so my friends step dad is a cop and i need to give her my serial number for my ipod so they can track it down, but i dont know where i can find the serial number i still have the case it came in and never threw it out but i dont know if it would be their and i was wondering if you can find it on itunes😊. Can someone please help me with this problem i feel as if my life is over because my whole life was on that ipod 😢
