I need to find the serial number of a magic mouse
Mac OS X (10.7.3), magic mouse
Look inside the battery compartment (remove the batteries.)

thank you very much for your help. the number in the battery compartment is invalid according to Apple support. also not the serial number appears in the original packaging or on the invoice. My magic mouse not working properly, and without this serial number Apple warranty applies. I need help please
yes, I visited that link, but the number is within the compartment according to Apple's web site is incorrect. I can not do anything :-(
Well, I just checked on mine, and the serial number is printed on the strip between each battery section in very small print.
You can't register mouse/trackpads on Apples site. They don't keep track of peripherals.
you are right. the print is very small and difficult to read.
