AIrport Express paring with Sitecom 300N

Hello , how can I connect my new AE to my Sitecom 300N ?

I tried several ways, but now my Mac contiues to say that the AE " was in a home network " and it's impossible to get a network with working AE and internet connection . I think I should be able to clean the configuration-logs , but how shoul I find these ?

And, maybe I should configure the AE with cable-connection to the Sitecom ?

Mac OS X (10.7.3)

With the first option the AXn would be connected to the Sitecom router by wire. In this configuration the AXn can support both extending the Sitecom's wireless network AND be used for streaming/printer sharing.

In the second option, the AXn would be connected to the Sitecome router by wireless. However, in this configuration it will NOT be able to extend the Sitecom's range BUT it can still be used for streaming/printer sharing.

In the second opinion ; what do I use in the configuration-settings ? - new network

- extend network

- replace router

And for the first opinion ?

And, in the first opinion ,can I use my iPhone over the Sitecom's network to stream music to the AX ?

Sorry , but I think this will be my final questions........;-))

(Note: I am referencing AirPort Utility v5.6 in the following responses.)

In the second option, you would choose: AirPort Utility > Select the AX > Manual Setup > AirPort > Wireless tab > Wireless Mode: Join a wireless network

Yes.

Sorry you are having so much trouble getting this to work.

There are only two other things I can think of:

  1. The Sitecom's wireless settings. It may be possible that you have the Sitecom wireless mode configured as such the AX is having difficulty joining it. In most cases, where this is true, the other router is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz wireless network that uses wide-channels. This is sometimes referred to as "turbo" mode. The AirPorts do not support wide-channels in this band.
  2. IPv6 in OS X Lion is on by default. This sometimes causes problems with either the AirPort Utility accessing the AirPorts or with streaming iTunes to an AX.

I would recommend checking the first item, and report back with what the Sitecom settings are. If, after doing so, we don't find anything unusual, I can provide you with the Terminal commands to disable IPv6.
