redeem us gift card in canada

I received a $50.00 US iTunes gift card as a gift from friends for services rendered. I live in Canada. How do I go about redeeming my card. I get an error message saying that the gift card code is good for the US and not Canada. Is there a way around this? I cannot believe that Apple would do this.

USA gift cards are not accepted in Canada. For ideas on what to do with it, consult this article.

He is correct. This is due to currency issues. You can let Apple know anything that's going on your mind.
