What is the Apple Method of Making a DVD Copy of Leopard?

I use a PowerPC G4 Mac (QuickSilver 2002). I run Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard. I use the original Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-104. I have an external dual-layer DVD burner.

1 What is the Official Apple Method of Making a DVD Copy of 10.5.8 Leopard?

2 What is the Official Apple Method of Making a Boot Disk in OS X Leopard?

Is the answer to question number 1 (one) and question number 2 (two) result in the same DVD?

Power Mac G4 (QuickSilver 2002) Dual, Mac OS X (10.4.11), I also use MacOS 9.2.2

... can your old G4 burn dual-layer DVDs?

FWIW I bought a replacement internal optical drive (a Matshita model though) for my similar vintage G4, running Tiger, and all the drive's functions worked including burning DVD+R DL.

Since the OP didn't indicate the external burner's brand though who knows:

Its capabilities should appear in System Profiler.

Are you connecting your external DVD burner via USB or Firewire?

If via USB that's going to be a mighty slow burn for a QuickSilver.

Since your Firewire bus doesn't register your LaCie, it would seem logical either it is connected via USB, or it is not turned on, or it is not connected. To tell the difference, see this image:

These are the ports from an iBook G3 Firewire. They are as follows from left to right:

Modem, Ethernet, USB, Firweire, and Audio out. Make sure your LaCie is hooked up to a similar port on the back of your Mac as the Firewire one above.
