icloud contacts, iphone 4, iphone 3g... sync?

I have brought my old iphone 3g to use again for a spare sim that i carry these days. my default phone is my iphone 4 running ios 5+. the iphone 3g is on ios 4.2.1 and it doesn't support icloud.

not anything else, but i would atleast want my contacts to remain in sync. now i have configured my iphone 4 to sync my contacts via icloud which is shown as a separate group on Lion's address book, and my iphone 3g can only sync with the contacts that are in "on my mac" group of my address book. now there appears to be no option to make the addressbook sync my "on my mac" and "icloud" group.

the only way seems to drag and drop after selecting all contacts of each group onto another turnwise. anyway easy way to do it? or am i mssing out something?
