Is Mackeeper safe?

I have been reading bad reviews about Mackeeper. Is it safe to use?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

No... you don't need it. Keep in mind, most third party so called cleaning utilities do more harm than good.

Keep in mind you have a signature of 10.7.3, and posted in the 10.6 forum. There is a 10.7 forum for Lion users if that's what you are running. I agree with Klaus. More important is to backup your data. Time Machine isn't the only option*:
